The Loneliness of Leadership - Part 2 - What if you didn't HAVE to LEAD?

Hello,

It can feel lonely as a leader. Whether you’re running your own business or a manager in a larger company, the pressure to perform, make tough decisions, decide where to prioritise your energy, and put on a brave face for your team, can feel overwhelming when you think you’re on your own.

And you think you have to LEAD

What if you didn’t?

What if it wasn’t one of your ‘jobs’?

No, really!

So Action Point 2 = Take LEADING off the to do list.

If you missed “Action Point 1” Click here to read the previous post.

Because what does it really mean anyway? Can you actually do it? Can you put it in a wheelbarrow? (my mentor’s test for whether it’s a real thing or not). Can you tell if it’s been done, or not?

No.

Then it’s probably time it take it off your list, with a big sigh of relief, and think about what you can do instead.

You can show up and be present for your team / peers / clients.

You can connect, human to human, and see what comes up.

You can listen. Really listen.

And you can respond, in the moment, in the way that occurs to you.

Does that sound lonely? It certainly won’t feel it, when you work like this with fellow humans. No matter what your role, title, responsibilities are.

Try it, you might just LOVE it.

And if the thought intrigues you; you’re not convinced, but open to learning more, come join my masterclass on June 24th – Lead with Ease & Energy - Join here

Or come play with a group of fellow humans, on June 13th, for our next Community Coaching call. Newcomers welcome every month.
