How to Stress Less

No matter what stats I look at, they all agree that at least 75% of us experience work-related stress. That sounds about right to me; there are some who don’t scare themselves silly about deadlines, managers, their teams and their bottom line. But most of us do, and regularly.

AND

(1) There’s no such thing as a scary presentation, a scary manager, or a scary financial situation. There are just presentations, managers and finances. We add the scary thoughts. So try doing that less.

(2) Stressing about them doesn’t help. Most folk think they need to worry about bad things happening to motivate them to do something about counteracting it. We don’t. We have an inbuilt guidance system that tells us what we need to do. Trust it.

(3) We don’t make the best decisions or take the best action when we’re coming from a place of fear and worry. So when you feel that you’re scaring yourself; stop, chill out, and come back to the task in hand when you’re feeling nicer. You’ll do much better.

Easier said than done?

Get it in theory but can’t quite see how to apply this practically to your next ‘stressful’ work situation?

Give it a go, experiment with it, and bring it as a challenge to work on in a 1-2-1 call with me or at my next Group Coaching Session.

And if you’re open to seeing more about this subject, come along to September’s Stress-Less Success Masterclass.

Impactfully yours,
